Question Places to live

Hi, I currently live on MTN Home AFB. My husband is retiring in June and I'm contemplating a job in Nampa making $10K more than I do now. We have a 5 yr old son so GREAT school system a MUST. I have noticed the Nampa/Caldwell school systems aren't that great. Can someone recommend an area to live? Would it be better in Boise, if so what area? What about Meridian? What commute time can I expect? We are looking at the $175-200K price range, 3 BD, 2 BA nice community area w/ walking paths and playgrounds. Thanks in advance.
