Default Are Any Mailboxes Attached to Houses in Boise??

I am looking to move to Boise in '10 and in doing some Google map looking, I see the mail boxes are on the street in these pictures. Where I live now, my mailbox is attached to my house, right outside my front door, and I like that. What areas in Boise do you see mailboxes attached to the house and not out near the street?

You might find that that in some of the older neighborhoods, but for the most part the mailboxes are at the curb throughout the area. If that were a major selling point for me, I'd look in the older areas of town, such as North Boise. I know that there are a lot of areas with mailboxes on the house in Nampa too. It's going to be slim pickings though, really.

Yes, most homes and neighborhoods I have seen in Boise have mailboxes attached to the homes especially in the historic neighborhoods and the Bench. A lot of the newer subdivisions tend to have them on the street.

I live in the Northend and my mailbox is outside my front door attached to the house.

Mailbox placement was something we picked up on when we were driving all over looking at Boise real estate. It was very different from where we are in Everett, WA. Here older homes downtown do have attached mailboxes, but everywhere else they are all one side of the street(makes it easier for driving mailcarriers). Newer subdivisions often have one central box similar to an apartment.
Around Boise and suburbs old and new, we thought it strange that the mailboxes were on both sides of the street(only one or two boxes together) and usually planted practically in the middle of the sidewalk--not at all convenient for dog walkers and children on bikes, nor efficient as far as mail delivery goes. :~/ D
