I've been a member for over a year now, and I've never had a problem with any book I've received - until now. The book had visible water damage, but the really fun part? The holes in the last 50 pages that basically made the book unreadable! When I complained to the sender and asked her to give back the one credit that I "spent", her response was to ask me to send the book back to her, so she could send it to someone else "less discriminating"! Really?! No, I'm not sending it back to her; why on earth would I want someone else to have the same experience?

Honestly, it's as if this book sat in her garage, and termites starting boring holes into it. I can't believe anyone would send a book out in such condition! Some people... They never cease to amaze me.

Paperback Swap is so big that they can't follow up on issues like this, but they can flag her account "behind the scenes", and she could eventually lose her membership if other people complain.

In the meantime, I bought a brand new copy of this book - which I wish the irresponsible book sender would pay for, but fat chance of that ever happening, right?

Im sorry you had such a bad expierience as well . I dont like paperback swap either I use swap tree cause you can rate people there and if rated badly too many times they are removed from the site and banned for life . They do keep up on it . I've been a member for over a year at Paperback swap, but just sent one book and never got any yet. Some of the books I had listed, they are gone now. I found it wasn't what i really wanted..i still have postage i paid for at the site, so someday i may mail one more book, get a book or two and then quit.
