OK, I'm officially out of control. Hear that? OUT OF CONTROL.
- I have 58 books on my Kindle that are unread.
- I have 15 other books that are either on their way to me or for which I have a Kindle-hold at the library.
- Aaaand, the New York Times Book Review section will be here tomorrow morning, so that might mean a few more added to my list.
- And you guys -- YOU GUYS!!! -- you're always suggesting good stuff for me to read. And so is Amazon.

I ordered Alys, Always from the Library today. Beautiful Ruins is ready for pick up. Man Booker released the long list this week. The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Henry Fry looked interesting so I it's on my hold list. I get the Sunday NYT delivered, but the Sunday book review is online today. The early bird gets the worm. LOL

When we lived in CT, some sections would arrive on Saturday, the book review being one of them. I knew it was available online and, even though I'm a totally geek techy, I like to wait for my paper. Silly, right?

Dammit! I just realized that I'm not going to have a relaxing day with the newspaper tomorrow... so I'm going to swallow my words and look at the book review online now.

I think that most of the unread classics on my Kindle will go unread forever. Maybe I'll try to read a few -- like Anna Karenina, The Woman in White, and Sister Carrie -- but I'm unsure that I'll ever delve into all the others.
As for the non-classic books on my Kindle, I'm not sure about those either. The Winds of War and War and Remembrance are the only two that I *might* try to read. But who knows...
I also realized that after I finish East of Eden, my "to read" list is the shortest that it's ever been:
The Soul of a Doctor: Harvard Medical Students Face Life and Death
The O’Briens
Light of Amsterdam
Sharp Objects (Gillian Flynn)
Dark Places (Gillian Flynn)
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry (although I might not ever read it)
The Glass Room (Mawer)
The Keepers of the House
The Twelve Tribes of Hattie
The Dinner (Herman Koch)
-50 Shades of Grey (ONLY for comedic value, i need something to laugh at)
-Catching Fire*** (Suzanne Collins is awesome and the stars are for anticipation)
-Gabby Douglas' Leap of Faith (I want some inspiration for my own Olympic dream)
-The Harnessers: REVOLUTION*** (this sounds SO awesome in the Kindle store, plus its cheap)
I'm currently crossing The Once and Future King by T.H. White off the list. It's been on the list for a long time.
Other books I want to read: The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien - Mostly so I can see the movie. I make it a rule to never see a movie adaptation without first reading the book.
The Stonemason by Cormac McCarthy - A play, or rather, "a novel in dramatic form," rarely actually performed.
Paradise Lost by John Milton - I have this partially completed, but it isn't easy to get through 500 pages of prose.
The complete August Wilson's Century Cycle - A series of 10 plays chronicling the African-American experience, each play is set in a different decade of the 20th century. Ideally I'd want to see these all performed but that unfortunately isn't too likely.
