Next month I'll be reading bios/autobios. If I run across one that is especially good, I'll let you know! I have a bio of Madalyn Murray O'Hair on my coffee table right now. Gotta finish The Handmaid's Tale before I start it. Have you read In Cold Blood by Truman Capote? Very, very well-written.

I really enjoyed this one: washingtonpost.com: The Life of the Party
It's called Milking the Moon : A Southerner's Story of Life on This Planet, the biography of Eugene Walter. Check out the reviews! It's a very good read!

Maybe it's just me, but I can't see requesting or recommending something just as any biography. It usually seems to me that most people have a preference - politics, science, culture, etc.
That said, how about Zelda by Nancy Mitford, First Family: Abigail and John Adams by Joseph Ellis, Nicholas and Alexandra by Robert K. Massie, The Brontes by Juliet Barker.

"The Seven Pillars of Wisdom" is a must-read auto-biography of T. E. Lawrence (of Arabia). Short list of the most important books I've ever read.
"How to Live" by the French essayist Montaigne is a delightful scatter-shot auto-biography that reads as fresh and timely as a 20th century novel.

The new book on his life ( Hero: The Life and Legend of Lawrence of Arabia by Michael Korda) is just outstanding. But man is it long! Almost 800 pages.
John Adams by by David McCullough is also terrific.
If you like ancient history, Augustus: The Life of Rome's First Emperor by Anthony Everitt is very, very good.
For something light, try Elephant to Hollywood by Michael Caine.

In the Spirit of Crazy Horse by Peter Matthiessen. It's the story of Wounded Knee. Peter Matthiessen has written a lot of good books. I guess it's not really a biography though.
