I really like Where the Crawdad's sing though I cannot pinpoint why....
It was like caramel, sweet, warm and comforting. Or perhaps more like salted caramel.
I just got Eleanor Oliphant, on audio, and the military only gives you 10 days.... Today is the 8th and I haven't started yet, I'm going to have to work at getting it finished.

Well, I won't have the book 'til Monday but look forward to it. I can't pinpoint exactly when I read it the first time but I likely didn't yet have a driver's license or the freedom Steinbeck had, I likely looked at him as someone I'd be happy to have as a crazy uncle with the audacity to just take off and see the country. Now, being a few years older than he when he took his trip and having taken a few laps of the country myself, it should be interesting to see how it strikes me the second time around.

I'm looking forward to hearing how you feel about the book now.
What a gigantic story for a debut novel - entertainingly impressive! I can't wait for Nathan Hill's next novel!
Added to my list.

I needed a light read and chose "The Shark Club" by Ann Kidd Taylor. Her mother is a writer(Sue Monk Kidd) as well. Anyway its about a marine biologist who dedicates her life to saving sharks. Overall a pleasant read., except when they discuss shark finning operations.
