I liked peas, actually. It was the lima beans and brussel sprouts that really got me. Hated those! Still refuse to eat brussel sprouts.

That is one of the things that saved our Henry.

Interesting guy. He came to the US, became a millionaire by creating Transformers for Hasbro and form his own toy company and now builds housing for the elderly in the US and Israel. He donates the money for this. PLUS, his is probably the biggest name in poker (yes, as in casinos) in the country and invented the (I don't quite understand this) special way that a viewing audience can see the hold cards of players during poker tournaments.

I really, really, like this guy. I would love to meet him. It also helps that he is an exceptional writer....not of flowery prose but with a style that is more of a conversation. Great book!
Got it! Thanks!

Ketabcha -- I was going to send you email about this, but I thought that maybe someone else might also want to know about this book.

I haven't read it yet, but I have it... and it sounds fabulous and totally up your alley.

Amazon.com: The Sunflower: On the Possibilities and Limits of Forgiveness (Newly Expanded Paperback Edition) (9780805210606): Simon Wiesenthal: Books

The characters -- at least in this first story -- were strongly fleshed out.
I saw this post much earlier and I thought, "Oh, Dawn. Go to bed." And then I thought, "oh, wait. That's me!" And so I did.

I am still reading Wool. And really hating reading it on an ipad. I get distracted and last night ended up shooting zombies - again.

Ahhh. Thanks, Dawn. I NEED to read this one. For one thing Simon Wiesenthal is one of my heroes. I'd read it just for his portion.

Please tell me that every day. I've been waking up between 3:30 and 4:00 AM every morning, and not able to fall back to sleep. That makes for VERY long days. So I'd appreciate it if you YELLED at me to go back to sleep. Thanks.

I'm still reading The News from Spain and I'm still loving it. Each one is a great story that features "news from Spain" in a subtle way. Joan Wickersham is a fabulous writer.

Not very happy with William Gibson's "Zero History", but I'm chugging through it anyway, just because he is a clever and imaginative descriptive writer. Half way through, I went back and read the blurb, to see if there was a story line that I was somehow missing, but if there was, the blurb writer missed it too.

I stopped reading To A God Unknown for a few nights in order to reread something I wrote (which is horrible, btw), but last night I jumped back into To A God Unknown and I'm finding I really like this novel. The closing "scene" of chapter ten may be some of the finest writing I've ever enjoyed (so far).

The Storyteller - Jodi Picoult. Also about the Holocaust, and living in a Polish ghetto. It's fiction, but so far I think it's her best.

4. All of the Harry Potter Books (Loads of fun)
5. Middlesex
6. A Million Little Pieces
7. The 5 People You meet in Heaven
8. Yes, yes - The DaVinci Code
9. Memoirs of a Geisha

My all time Favorite book is Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison. I can go on and on. But the the book I keep going back to over and over again is 1-2-3 Magic: Effective Discipline for Children 2-12. I love my kids but they drive me crazy

we have similar reading styles. I read most of your 10 books except 9 and 2. Most of them I liked.

Just finished "Catching Fire" and now reading:

Mockingjay

The Pillars of the Earth

Stones from the River
