Many years ago I read a book that had a story in it about a guy who had bought a new pickup truck with a remote for setting the burglar alarm. When he pushed the button the horn would honk to let him know the alarm was set. For some reason he had his dog in the truck also. He stopped off to pick up a friend and he was talking to the friend about the new remote to set the burglar alarm. He hit the button but the horn didn't honk. He hit it several times but it still wouldn't honk. The guy was getting upset because his new device obviously wasn't working. The friend grabbed his golf bag and they go to the pickup to go golfing. When they get to the pickup the inside is all torn up with dog poop all over. The guy had one of those "obedience" collars on his dog and he had been hitting it instead of the remote for his new burglar alarm.

I read that book a long time ago but I cannot remember who wrote it or what the title was. Can anyone help me out? I sure would like to reread it.
