He is a weird one but very interesting. At the begining of the show there was a disclaimer about his language.

I'm just over halfway through with this book, and I don't think I'm going to be able to finish it. It's incredibly boring to me. How are all of you liking it?

I'm about 3/4 done. I like it, but the middle part dragged on too long. Can't wait to see how it ends!

The New York Times has it listed as one of the Top 10 books of 2011, which is surprising since the NYT is known for it's snobby dismissal of King's work.

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/11/bo...html?ref=books

Think I'll check it out.

No, but I believe it's a subject that's been tackled before.

I've read exactly one King novel (Cell), and I was so disgusted at the lack of coherence and character development that I swore I'd never read another, but this subject tempts me.

I think the subject would tempt a lot of people who might not normally be interested in King. What King does very well in this book is describe the world of the late 50s and 60s. And also to his credit, he doesn't actually come up with any sort of definite conclusions about how wonderful the world would have turned out had Kennedy lived. I think there was room for a little more speculation on that end of it. And the book could have done with a few hundred pages chopped out of it. King does over-write but even so, I would still recommend the book for the descriptions of the mentality and world of that American era.

When he writes well, he writes very well, and when he writes badly, it is horrible.

This is the first time I've heard 'lack of character development' in describing Steve! If anything, this is what he does best and one of my favorite aspects of his incredible talent.
LOVED Cell by the way!

Just started 11/22/63 and already can't put it down.

Spoiler
I'm at the part where Epping (Amberson) arrived in Dealey Plaza.
I'm finding the book addicting. I have a hard time putting it down.

Different strokes though, right? People LOVE King's Dark Tower series and I cannot get into it.
