I just discovered the Joe Ledger series by Jonathon Maberry. Ledger is an agent with the DMS, a secret rapid response group that handles unusual problems. The action is ferocious, the body count amazing and the writing pretty damn good.

Start with Patient Zero, where terrorists have developed a bio-weapon that turns ordinary people into zombies. Don't read late at night, you won't be able to put it down.

I like Maberry's books a lot. Scary stuff.

Rapidly becoming one of my favorite writers is Donna Leon and her Guido Brunetti mystery series about a Police Commisario in Venice.

A couple that I enjoyed that I don't think have been mentioned

All Soul's Trilogy by Deborah Harkness......except the third one hasn't come out yet and I'm anxious! If it doesn't come out pretty soon I'm going to have to go back and re-read the first 2 as I will forget some of the parts.

The Cat Who... by Lillian Jackson Braun. This is pretty lightweight reading, but I really enjoy them.

And I'm not sure if they are a true series, but I am currently reading the Kay Scarpetta books by Patricia Cornwell. I have started from the first one because, like a series, there seems to be storyline continuations between them. I would have been confused about some of it had I not started from the beginning. So, kinda like a series.

Harry Potter.
Twilight was pretty good
I liked the first two Hunger Games books, the third one wasn't very interesting to me.
I read the first two Fifty Shades books. I have the third one but I'm not sure if I will read it. I didn't like the first two books very much...
