Hi, I've been reading where some ebooks you can get movies to play on them. I'm wondering if anyone knows if I can do that with a nook?

If so how do I do it. I've tried to figure it out but can't. Thanks

There are several different models of Nook

Choose the NOOK that's Right for You - Barnes*&*Noble

To watch movies, you need the Nook Tablet. The ereaders are all eink screens, which won't play movies. There are ebooks that have video content, but those have to viewed on a tablet-style device (Nook Tablet, Kindle Fire, iPad). I think the imbedded content might also play on a smartphone or PC reader application.

I have the Nook Tablet and I can watch movies on it via Netflix (pay for Netflix, streaming). It needs Wifi to do this. Not sure if there are other options.

my wife has a nook color, and we watch movies on it (works great while traveling). Actually a nice picture, and when we are in the air just use splitters and ear buds and that 2+ hour flight passes quickly when watching a movie.
There are several programs you can use to convert your dvd's into the right format and then download into the nook (we save ours on it's sd card). The programs are inexpensive and fairly easy to use, and work with nook color/tablets, kindle fire, ipads, etc. I see them as a modern version of the old days when we'd record on cassette an LP so we could play it in the car (i didnt want to date myself and list my first cars had 8 track lol)

i cant say how well netflix works, as we dont stream content at home or on the fly, but as long as one has the right e-reader (which has the ability for video) there are low cost options out there.
