Sorry if I have already mentioned this book - as this thread started in 2007.

"Shoutin Into The Fog" a memoir by Thomas Hanna

Growing up on Maine's Ragged Edge

He grew up in the late 30s and 40s - not an easy time when the family was so v ery poor.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne. I was at the bookstore yesterday and it started to rain. Picked this up as it was on the endcap. Sat down with it and finished in about an hour. What an amazing little book. I don't know how it slipped by me, it's also a movie now. Anyway, wow.
