OK so it's not being released until the beginning of June but is anyone else looking forward to this?
I'm a total SK geek although he's had several clunkers, but this one looks like a fun classic good v evil, ripping yarn.

It looks promising. I hope Mr. Mercedes' first name isn't Christine.

Ha!

No. If it's the book I think it is (one he talked about in a speech last year) it's a creepy murder mystery. Sounded almost more Thomas Harris than Stephen King.

Appreciate the "heads-up" that there's a new King book on its way, I'll be on the lookout for it & checking at the library to see when it arrives.

According to Welcome to StephenKing.com it comes out June 3rd.
While at his site, I noticed *another* new book scheduled for later in the year-

Where did you see him speak? I saw him in Naples (FL) a few years ago. Very entertaining, as we knew he would be.

Youtube. I can't remember where he was when he talked about this book, but it had to have been one of his appearances in the past 2 or 3 years. I think it was the one where he was onstage with another author (whose name I can't remember). The other guy asked Stephen questions, and they also took a few from the audience. What I remember:

Spoiler
A few years before the story opens, someone ran a car through a crowd full of people, killing several. The murderer was never caught. The investigating officer never solved the case. He is now retired. He is at home one day when the phone rings. He answers. It's the murderer. He tells the cop that he enjoyed every minute of the bones crunching and the screaming, and he knows he'll never get caught. The rest of the book is about the retired cop finding this killer.

How much that original idea changed in the writing ... ? Who know? We'll find out in June.

Looking forward to another Stephen King book, as always! I just reserved a copy from the library. I'm 12th on the hold list. I think they get at least 10 copies so hopefully I won't have to wait too long.
