I am another who wants Spooky/Creepy/Supernatural... but absolutely NOT real life horror with human monsters/sociopaths,or profanity filled books with graphic sex/extreme violence and gruesome gore!

Novels only, not short stories/anthologies,have read many excellent ones, but want more full length books.

I found The Haunting of Hill House boring, same with Hell House by Richard Matheson, but enjoyed The Woman in Black by Susan Hill, and I recently discovered and loved The Presence by John Saul!

FEVRE DREAM by George R.R. Martin. Imagine if Mark Twain had written DRACULA.

BAG OF BONES by Stephen King. Great ghost story.

THE TOMB by F. Paul Wilson. Might be a bit too close the action genre than what you're looking for, but still a great story.

Have you read his "Armageddon Rag"?

Fantasy, murder mystery, and rock 'n roll.
Strange book

To me,'Haunted' and 'The Magic Cottage' are books by James Herbert that sound my speed. ;]

I also love YA like the amazing ghost stories by Mary Downing Hahn, and thought Ruined: A Novel by Paula Morris and Rippler: Book One in the Ripple Series by Cidney Swanson were AWESOME!

I heartily recommend The Curious Ways of the Winships by Andrea Mina Savar. She has written a follow up novel to this one.

It's spooky and supernatural and the characters are fully fleshed. The writing is good and I was hooked immediately by the story. I really enjoyed both books.

Try "Psychlone" by Greg Bear. It's not his usual science fiction.
