Although I have seen that kind of oddity previously with fingernails, this is the first time I've seen it with toenails.

Lodestar, in your pm to me, you mentioned that ancient pillar of iron in India which never rusts. The first time I heard about it (in the early 1970s) came from a different source than yours. You heard about it from Ripley but I heard about it from the book Chariots Of The Gods. That was the book by Eric Von Daniken who used such anomalies as that pillar of iron to try to prove that Earth was visited by extraterrestrials in the ancient past. I don't know whether you read that book or not. But either way, from Von Daniken or Robert Ripley, that ancient pillar is amazing.
