Hi everyone, back in the 60's when I was a teen,my mom collected the Doc Savage: Man of Bronze sci-fi/adventure/crime series in paperback, and I loved those books.Does anyone know of a series that is that great?
I thought the whole premise was terrific.Loved how the guys were all specialists and Doc was like a super-human,but also there was no gore-porn,sex or profanity.
Not exactly the same, but you might try F. Paul Wilson's Repairman Jack series. Jack is an urban mercenary who "fixes" things for people, and one of his fixes gets him mixed up fighting monsters. Kind of hard to describe without making it sound goofy, but in tone I would say imagine if Charles Bronson had been cast as Fox Mulder.
