I didn't like it- I just had no sympathy for the main character. I actually read the second one too, even though I didn't like the first, hoping she would have matured a little from the first book, but I didn't like that one either.
However, plenty of people did like the book- there have been several sequels, so it must be doing well.
If you like the "chick lit" genre, check out some of Marian Keye's novels- they are fun, but smart. Watermelon, Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married, Angels, and Rachel's Holiday were all very good.

I have read one. predicatable, simple, chic lit. A little too mindless (IMO) As stated before chic lit, but not smart chic lit. This series has lots of fans, so apparently it strikes a cord with some.Maybe read one and try it-it was'nt THAT painful.
Worst book ever. The main character is not funny, but rather irritating. I feel so sympathy for her and by the end of the book, I felt my time was wasted. Plus, the whole book was too predictable and rather mindless.
