My mom, who'll be 89 soon, hasn't gone a day without reading for...80+ years? Constantly downloading stuff to her Kindle, pouring over her iPad for Facebook and 1001 crochet websites for new patterns...
I'd say (and her doctors agree lol) she's too busy to go and has a lot of time left too.
Does time spent reading count as "living"? I have my doubts. For many reading is an exalted form of escapism, perhaps less damaging than drugs and alcohol, but it drains heavy readers lives the same.
