Default title of Little Duckling Book

Hi,
I read a book when I was a little boy and want to recall the title, perhaps if I describe the book you may remember it and give me the title:

A little duckling's parents ask him what he wants for his birthday and he, to their dismay, wants an umbrella. Despite their shame they give him his umbrella and at his birthday party when everyone is laughing at the little duckling who is so afraid of water he wanted an umbrella for his birthday, it begins to rain. He runs outside with his umbrella and plants it upside down into the ground and opens it to gather rain water. In a minute he and all his little duckling friends are wading in his new collapsible pool.

do you remember this book? if you do can you please tell me the title?

Another wonderful duck book for children is Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey. My children loved it when they were small and it is now read to my grandchildren.

It is still enchanting, although I read somewhere that there is some controversy about the story teaching children poor etiquette and street safety. I never read into that deeply, but will look at those points the next time I read it to the kiddies!

You can try looking around on this site. It might help to know how old you are or how long ago you read this book, to help narrow the search.
Or you can email and ask on this site.
