& do you think it is worth the cost? I have been reading many of the free downloads, & some I enjoyed so much, I ended up buying books number 2 or 3 in the series etc. SO I was looking at some of the books available, & see that book one might ne available, but the next book in the series, are not in the unlimited. I am not sure if it is worth the $9.99 monthly cost. I am a bit of a cheapskate. I like murder thrillers. For my more serious reading, I read the books for my book club, & have enjoyed those very much. But so far, none of those have been on the unlimited list, so I have to buy them, or go to the library. I prefer readin on the kindle, it is easier to hold than a heavy book.

I don't use Kindle Unlimited but I have a question regarding "...or go to the library. I prefer readin on the kindle, it is easier to hold than a heavy book." Does your library not have OverDrive? That allows you to borrow the Kindle version of the book from your library, assuming that it's available.
Thank you, I called them, & they do have electronic books to borrow, I just need to go in, I will do that soon. I am so far behind the times, I did not know the library did this lol So many thanks.

Bummer that you actually have to go in but you're going to LOVE this. So many welcomes!
I have a 3 month trial of kindle unlimited for 99 cents a month. I started it about a month ago. My friend said she loved it so for that price, I took the plunge.
There are a ton of free kindle books and I check the CD thread with free listings almost every day but as you noted, if the book is part of a series, many times the other books in the series will not be free.
I'm leaning towards keeping it once it reverts to full cost. There are some books that I want to read on kindle which aren't free but that I don't want to read badly enough to pay full the price.
Since it's only $9.99 a month (at full price), if it saves me from buying 2 full price books (either print or ebook), it's pretty much paid for itself. I've read a few good books in the time I've had it that I probably wouldn't have otherwise read. I also read/skimmed a really awful book and I was thrilled that I didn't pay for it and waste my money.
I got the free trial too. Lots to read but when it expires I will cancel it. I am not going to pay $10 per month for books I get free from the library. They read on my Kindle just the same.

I’ve subscribed a couple of times, the last being the $.99 for 2 months. I like courtroom dramas and have pretty much read everything unlimited offers in that category. I’ve found most of the books on unlimited are under $2.99 so I need to read 3 of these to pay for unlimited in a month. I’ll keep purchasing a book here and there and get freebies from certain authors I follow. Sometimes I feel rushed on unlimited to get my quota of books before the next billing, therefore I don’t find unlimited worth it.
