I am reading Kingdom Come and think all the books prior have been excellent. Once I picked up the first book, "Left Behind", I couldn't put them down. Great story line, good characters, some obviously perish along the way, but the main characters stay consistant throughout the series. If you didn't followed Jesus before reading the series, there is a good chance you will after, And that aint such a bad thing considering the alternative. I haven't read the first ones in a while, and just may start reading them all over again.
Amen

I enjoyed the series but the further it went along the father they got off the point in my opinion. There was a waiting list at our library for each new book that came out at the time. My kids enjoyed the teens series around age 12. Neither series is what I would consider great writing but gives the reader something to think about in the life here after.

If you want to read something decent in the Christian mode, read C.S. Lewis. The "Left Behind" stuff is horrible.

Thanks for bringing Lewis' name up. Forgot about him!

I have read all the books except "Kingdom Come" which is in my pile of to-be-read books. (There are 3 prequel books too.) If you are a Christian and not a fundamentalist, you will know like it was stated that your faith will be mocked. However, the books are very good as it does give you something to think about as far as Revelations. They aren't so hard to read as people who aren't big readers will not be able to read them. I recommend them to anyone. I don't know that I would say start with book one and don't stop reading them until you've read them all. I'd break it up otherwise it could get tedious as you go along. I read several in a row and then breaked before reading more. I think they are also good inspiration for people to read the Bible more too.

I read the first one. I thought it was so far out there that it wasn't worth reading any more of them.

Or perhaps intrigue readers to crack open the bible for the first time too? With so many "styles" of bibles available now days readers can find one that they understand if the King James version is too much.

I am not religious in the least but I liked them. It was something different than most things I have read and not poorly written.
