Oh, forgot about the Shining! It's one movie that I think was better than the book.

I need to read Shawshank.

A thing about SK books...the themes in them seem to stick with me, even after I've forgotten the book I'll think of the themes played out in it.

Stephen King is a pretty good writer. But Stanley Kubrick was one of the greatest film directors that ever lived.

But, I didn't like the way he killed off Halloran. I don't think King did either, he commissioned another film version of the book. It aired, not too long ago, I think it was a made for TeeVee.

I love all of his older books! The Dark Towers were wonderful, but came out so far apart that one has to reread the earlier in order to remember. I think my favorite is The Dead Zone, and what was the one with the men on death row and the mouse? Forgot what that was called, but great writting and the movie was good too.

The only person stranger than Steven King is the elderly lady I witnessed years ago reaching thru his fence in his front lawn in Bangor to collect and bag acorns. I can't make this stuff up people.
