Can anyone name this book/series? (female, crime) (mystery, character, author)

This is going to be rubbish so apologies in advance.

Its probably going to be crime/mystery type as thats mainly what I read. The main character is a female. She runs with 1 or 2 dogs. I think one is called Pippa or something. The dogs belong to her neighbour/landlord.

I thought it was Sue Grafton - Kinsey Millhoune but i'm at S and the dogs haven't arrived.

Any idea? TIA

This sounds familiar. Women author--three names. In other words, it isn't like a Sue Grafton (two names) but more like a James Lee Burke (three names). See what I mean?

Could it be author Gerald Hammond? There is a dog named Pippa in his books.
