I heard that "A thread of Grace" was equally good--so we have a fair trade.

Ender's Game is my all time favorite Sci-Fi Book and Ender's Shadow is almost just as good. Anyone who hasn't read those two books needs to buy them ASAP...

Whoa! Another ERB fan!! I belong to ERBList, ERBCOF, go to the conventions, collect his books, and other related items. I first discovered his writing when I was about 11 when I read "At the Earth's Core".

Other fav sci/fi / fantasy writers:

Orson Scott Card (Ender Series)
Harlan Ellison
JRR Tolkein
CS Lewis (discovered him at age 11 too)
Anne McCaffrey (Pern series)
Terry Brooks
James H. Schmidt (Witches of Karres) - I HIGHLY recommend it!

And I love vintage 1950's sci fi. I've picked up a few anthologies and really enjoy reading the futuristic writings.

blessings, Shen

Seeing the Nobel Prize winner today, Doris Lessing, I was reminded of her brilliant science fiction novel, part of a larger series, entitled Shikasta: Re, Colonised Planet 5. The first in the series, it was the best!

Yeah no doubt, to bad Hollywood can't quite get his stuff right
on the big screen. ( like they did with King's " The Green Mile " )

....love Koontz's take on Frankenstein.
