Hi There ,

I wanted to know what is the parking situation on Jamaicaway and S Huntington.
Is it possible to find parking spot?
Is it allowed to park at night ?

Thanks

It shouldn't be that difficult, particularly on South Huntington. The situation may be less straightforward on the J-Way due to all the big apt/condo buildings which lack off-street lots. Experience (from having once lived in that neighborhood) tells me that vehicles which don't belong in "private" parking areas can and do get towed no matter the time of day. Check the City of Boston Website to be certain that the area isn't one where residential-parking permit stickers are required. Lacking one is yet another invitation for a trip to the car pound.
You may be able to rent garage space at the nearby Brook House, which would give your ride shelter as well as security.

Default Parking

Hi,
I know that area well. Yes, it is not hard to find parking at night and parking is allowed; many side streets also have parking available. HOWEVER,
1. during "snow emergency" times, parking will become scarce/nonexistent, as parking will be banned on many streets so that the city can plow them.
2. be aware that break-ins/car thefts are not that uncommon and that is not a low-crime neighborhood... if you had a nice Honda, for example, it may attract more attention than you'd like.

If you rent a monthly garage spot at the Brook House (large apt complex near there) it's $175/month for a spot.

Good luck!
