Default Utilities?

Can anyone give me an estimate on what a two bed/two bath apartment utilities will cost?

This is for Water/sewage and heat and electricity? I am trying to figure out how much to budget!

Thanks!

You can expect a range of $200-$300 per month..a lot depends on how conservative you are as well.

A friend was complaining only yesterday about her landlord, who has apparently been including her heating costs in her rent but now wants her to pay them. And this past winter they were hitting $400 a month. I don't know what kind of building she lives in, but she said she's on the first floor and thinks there isn't any insulation between her apartment and the basement. She says her apartment is less than 1000 square feet. We thought this was an outrageous amount.

Many buildings in the Boston area are old and may be not-well-insulated, have leaky windows, etc., especially if it's an apartment in an old three-decker. It might be hard to get detailed information about a particular place, but you should try.
