You might contact the local council, Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts

It sounds as if you will be bringing a Girl Scout troop to Boston next summer. Something I'm wondering is whether there will be any particular activities the troop will have been involved with before this trip. If so, you might provide some info on the kinds of activities the troop will likely have been involved with, since you could choose activities during the trip which might tie in with what the troop has been involved with.

If this is strictly a fun trip, the first recommendation people usually seem to make for a visit to Boston is to walk the Freedom Trail, which connects the major historical sites. If this will mostly be a group of younger kids, they might enjoy the Children's Museum. Older or younger kids may want to check out the Museum of Science. The Museum of Fine Arts is also worth considering. Little kids seem to get a kick out of the museum's collection of mummies. Older kids might be old enough to appreciate the art exhibits. The New England Aquarium is another popular attraction.

Depending on what kind of budget you'll have, a whale-watching trip would be worth considering. For those, some people say you're better off taking the trips sailing out of Gloucester or other North Shore towns, because they are closer to the waters where the whales hang out, making for a shorter trip before you actually get to the spot where you can see a lot of whales. It depends on your plans. If you're staying right in Boston, the trip up to Gloucester would take long enough that it could turn out to be a decent trade-off to avoid that commute just to get to the boat, and take one of the whale-watching tours sailing out of Boston, even though the trip on the water would be longer from Boston.

Which beaches would be best to go to would depend in part on how far you'd be prepared to travel. On the North Shore, Crane's Beach and Wingershenk Beach are popular beaches that are in a fairly natural state. Hampton Beach, up in New Hampshire, is more of a touristy kind of beach with snack bars and arcades. It's a longer trip to the south side of Cape Cod, but may be worth the trip if you'll be bringing plenty of cars so that driving is an option. The water temperature is significantly warmer down there than it is north of Cape Cod.
