can anyone recommend a good house cleaning service in Charlestown (preferably not a chain, but rather a mom & pop outfit).

Check Craigslist, I saw a lot of them on there this morning. There was one that looks pretty good, it's Neese Cleaning Services. Look under "Household Services" Good luck!
