Smile From Boston to Waltham - easy to access by transit???

Hi Everyone,

In addition to my other questions, I wanted to find out if the city of Waltham, MA was easy to access by transit - train or would I need a car to drive there from Boston?

My church is located in Waltham, MA, 02451.

Thanks!!!

Default You can get there (Waltham) from here (Boston)!

Yes, there is public transit between Boston and Waltham. You can get there by either commuter rail or bus. Commuter trains on the Fitchburg/South Acton line, which leave Boston from North Station, stop in downtown Waltham, and at Brandeis/Roberts, which is toward the west side of Waltham. Areas in the far southern part of Waltham are close to several stops in Newton, on the Worcester/Framingham line, leaving Boston out of South Station. I'm not as familiar with busses, but I believe you can get pretty much anywhere in Waltham, via routes through Waltham itself or through the north side of Newton. Check the transit authority's website--mbta.com--for routes and timetables. They also have links to maps, showing where each stop or station is located, so you can see which stop is nearest to your destination. If you click on an individual station on the route maps, it brings up info for that station, including the address and the link to the map showing where the station is located.

Default Communiting options. Bus/Train to Waltham

It depends where the church is. If it is near the center of Waltham, Several busses end and originate from the bus depot in Waltham.
You could just take a bus from Downtown to Waltham and walk to the church.

There are also a couple train stops in Waltham as well from South Station (Commuter rail)

Routes 70 and 70A go from Central Square through Watertown to Waltham
