I am currently considering going to college at MIT for Mechanical Engineering. I am also considering UCCS and UTSA for college. I want to live wherever I go to college. I was just wondering:
What is the property tax, sales tax, and income tax
Would I be able to get a good job in this city?
Would I be able to support myself while I am in college?
Your help is much appreciated!

Property tax depends on where you settle- Cambridge? Boston? Somerville? All of these towns are in the immediate MIT area and have different property taxes, if you buy something instead of rent. Our state income tax hovers around 10% I believe and the general tax is 6.25%, but not everything is taxed, like groceries. Are you coming from another country? I'm not in the engineering field at all, so not sure about potential jobs, but I would think if you graduate from MIT for Mechanical Engineering that you probably wouldn't have a hard time finding a job somewhere doing something. Supporting yourself probably depends on how demanding your coursework is and how much time you have to work while in school.

Hope that helps. Good luck!
