Exclamation Boston non-US Immigration & Customs

I am landing in Boston en route to Cleveland in May. My transatlantic flight lands at 4.20pm. I can get a direct flight at 6.05pm. Do you think that is cutting it a bit fine to get thru Immigration and Customs? E.g. At JFK on two previous visits, it took me over 2 hours to get thru. In Philly last year it took me less than 30 minutes and I was on the train. The alternative is to get a flight leaving at 7.20pm but this goes via DC and gets me to Cleveland around midnight - rather late for my friends to pick me up and then an hour's drive to Richland County.
Can anyone advise please? I have emailed Delta but cannot get a response.

So are you a foreign national?

What country are you coming from? Will you have much in your luggage? How long will you be staying in the US?

How fast you go through Immigration and Customs will depend on what country you are from and how complicated your individual circumstance is. And of course, what time of day since some time periods are a lot busier than others for incoming travelers.
