Here's what I think -- as a straight woman who travels with husband and daughter: a gay owned hotel that caters to those on a budget (as opposed to a gay-owned hotel that caters to those who are not) will hands down be cleaner, more stylish, and have more charm than a budget room anywhere else. After a great experience last year at the Alexander Inn in Philadelphia, which is not strictly speaking a "budget" hotel, but it is certainly modestly priced - I have decided that, as long as we are welcome, I will always look for gay owned hotels. So, someone above asked what the difference is? That's like asking what's the difference between going to a Ramada Inn, on the one hand, and staying in a place with charm, warmth and personality, on the other. Anyway, currently looking for a gay-owned place, modestly priced, in the Boston/Cambridge area for weekend before memorial day. Any suggestions? Thank you!

So now we are discriminating hotels choices by what sexuality the owner of the hotel happens to be? How does one find this out, by the way, sans some online directory? You call and ask if the owner is homosexual or heterosexual?

Personally, I treat everyone as an individual and don't buy into silly stereotypes ('gay hotels are cleaner and more sylish'). But, I suppose I am an anomaly in this society.

I dont the OP is discriminating, they are just looking for a place where they are comfortable. Its their travel dollar.. why not?

I'm glad you treat everyone as an individual, but you are an anomaly, many are not as enlightened as you.

I love how this can be asked, but if somebody asked where they can go where there are no gay people, they'd be labeled prejudiced.
