What neighborhood in Boston do you prefer to live in? It must be in a place that your budget permits. If you can not personally afford your first choice then choose the next best one on the list that is ideal to fit your way of life.

You are able to select multiple neighborhoods if you can not make up your mind but please don't go nuts and select them all. If you are going to select multiple boxes, please keep it to a minimum of three!

The more swankier neighborhoods are not on the list here because most people just do not have the means to live in Beacon Hill or Back bay regardless of how much they may want to. Other neighborhoods that are excluded are ones that are far from the center of the city such as Roslindale...

This will hopefully shed some light for people, whether it be college students or working professionals, who are thinking of moving to Boston, and want to be close to the center without spending an arm or a leg.

If I did not have to worry about commuting by car to Waltham, I would live in Jamaica Plain in a minute! Right now I live in Somerville, which I love, but I'm also looking for apartments in Brighton which would make my commute a bit easier.

My budget is max $650 for rent with roommates.

How much would you say a room costs in the Brighton and the Allston area's? From what I see these areas for rooms is around $700-1000 a month. Is this correct?

700-1K is fair to say, you may fight something around 600 if you dig, but I'd say with roommates you can def find rooms under 800 in the majority of allston and brighton.

Why not add Medford/Malden? Parts are pretty decent and affordable

I picked jamaica plain, because it like that area. Theres a good sense of community there, people that dont know u say hi to u. Its nice to see that sometimes. Plus it would make commuting way easier for me. newton is just to far for me right now
