Default More of the same?

I just posted this in the NH forum but since the plan is to move to southern NH I may very well end up working in the Boston area. Here goes:

This is mainly directed to those of you in the healthcare field. I just want to know if the situation is as bad there as here. Just to give you a little background, I have only worked in the healthcare field in the state of FL. I work in a densely populated area at a not for profit hospital.

Is it just a FL thing or is there an abundance of people under 65 on Medicare in your state? The majority seem to be on MCR seondary to substance abuse isues, mental health issues or problems related to obesity. I honestly think the number under 65 are catching up with the ones over 65 (and we have alot of people over 65). Also, are there Medicaid/govt programs/plans that your physicians/home health agencies actually accept up there? Almost no one will take them here; the hospital ends up doing a ton of charity (and too many recipients have the attitude of entitlement). It's easy to get burned out in these situations.

Thanks for any input.

Having lived in both Miami and Boston, I say that's a Florida thing. Florida is full of crazies and scammers and I saw plenty of phony disabled down there - none in BOS.
