Default Help! Nurse trying to move to Boston.

Hi all, I am a children's nurse here in England and want to move over to Boston. My nursing qualification is in Children's Nursing only. During my nurse training I had to do 18 months foundation programme which included adult nursing.

Does anyone know if the Nursing Board would consider registering me? I am prepared to take the NCLEX if they would let me - though I have read that only adult nurses can sit this.

Please help!!!! I'm very confused by the whole thing. Thanks x

The Massachusetts Nurse Licensure Board's website says they contract their licensure services to Professional Credential Services, Inc (PCS). On the PCS website, they have a link under "candidates" that gives information for nurses educated outside the US (you'll probably want to look at the info under "by examination"--meaning you will need to take the NCLEX exam in order to be licensed; reciprocity probably means that you hold-or have held-a nursing license from another US state). I'd contact them by email and see what they have to say about the requirements for licensure in Massachusetts. More than likely, you will have to have your education reviewed by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) and will then have to take the NCLEX in order to be licensed.
