Hi,

My husband is going to be in boston for his birthday. I live in baltimore. I want to know if it is possible to have a river side midnight birthday party (just the two of us) in boston. Something like moonlight dinner. Are there any restaurants that will be open till midnight on Sunday (his birthday falls on a Monday) ?

Please let me know.
Thanks!

What do you mean by a river side birthday party? A restaurant with a view of the Charles River?

Yes.. a restaurant with a view of the Charles River. Or, is there any beach like area that allows people at midnight?

Boston is a tough town to get a full meal after 11, and also a tough place to get a good meal with a water view....It's not my favorite place by a long shot, but Top of the Hub serves late. It's not by the river, but you are 52 floors up so you'll have a view of it (if it's a clear night; if it's a cloudy night you are just overpaying for average food).

If you can deal with being on the harbor instead of the river, the lounge at Strega is open until 2.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the Riverside T stop on the D line

...and I was thinking one of my favorite dive bars, Riverside Seafood & Pizza in Cambridge.
Dante - at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, and whatever the restaurant may be called at the Cambridge Hyatt Regency now, both face the river from the north. The view from Dante would be far more interesting since the towers of downtown are that much closer.
I don't quite see what the appeal of having a river view is, when Boston is right by the ocean.

I would suggest just having the dinner on Sunday evening (or Monday evening) earlier, when you could enjoy a water view.

What about Tavern on the Water in Charlestown? I've never been, but many of my Boston friends love the view and atmosphere there.
