What's the cheapest area to rent a studio around the Boston area? I'm willing to commute as far as Salem.

Probably Malden and Quincy, and they're near subways or buses. Basic studios probably start at $800-$900. Cannot get that low a price in the student areas, though.

also what is the sq. footage do you want? thats a big factor since some places are cheaper but is only 250 sf compared to some studios that are 500sf. Usually the best way to measure is to see whats the price 1 per sf.
