Hi there,

My fiance and I were thinking about coming up in the fall for a Pat's game. We both love the Patriots and cannot wait to see them play. Anyway, we would by flying into Boston the morning of the game for a 1pm game. From the airport (or even from the hotel--we are staying near Quincy Market), is there any transportation other than renting a car that would get us there or should we rent a car for the day? We will likely stay in Boston for another day or two before we fly back and we really don't think we need a car while we are up there. Last time we were there we drove and the car stayed parked in a garage all weekend. I know that last time we were there the hotel said something about a bus that we could take but honestly, it has been over two years and I don't remember.

If any of you have any suggestions on how we could get to the game we would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks so much!

The site has not been updated for next season, but as far as I know, the MBTA will continue to run the special "football train" on game days: MBTA > Riding the T > Patriots.

You would be able to take the Silver Line bus rapid transit from the airport to South Station, where you can board the train to the stadium.

Absolutely positively the only way to do it unless you are a masochist. I'd go to SS from the hotel rather than the airport, but that's a matter of choice. I have friends with season tickets who drove once, realized the insanity, and never did it again.

Driving to a game is quite a nightmare. If you're staying downtown, I would take the "Game Day Express" train. Makes much more sense if you're coming from the city.

Great. Thanks for the help guys. We drove last time we went to a game and it was indeed a nightmare, traffic was horrific and parking was ridiculous but it was all worth it to see the game. This time we are trying to be smarter about it. I guess we'll go by the hotel, drop off our stuff and take the SS from there. We really appreciate your input.

Thanks again.

Driving to a Pats game is no worse than any other NFL game.

The nice thing about driving is the ability to do a true tailgate.

Taking the train to the game is a great way to go! It does make several stops along the way so it is a bit of a journey from South Station.
