I'm partial to Empire Garden. The restaurant is huge so even if you have to wait it's not for very long, it's cheap and the decor is plain awesome. It's like old world China kitsch.

I'd take a pass and get some Teriyaki Chicken in Fanueil Hall if that takes your fancy. Chinatown is pretty ratty.

We usually go to Chau Chow City or Hei La Moon. China Pearl is very popular too, although I have never been there.

The China Pearl can be pretty crowded, but this is probably a sign of its popularity. It's where I used to go most frequently. Just budget in a little time for a potential wait.

Also, if you have someone with a disability, or who can't cope with stairs, don't go there. No elevator, and quite a few stairs to get to the seating area.

Great food though.

I like China Pearl too, even though it can be a zoo during prime time (noon-ish on a Sunday).

What on earth does chicken teriaki have to do with dim sum?

I like Empire Garden and China Pearl. So delicious.

In a pinch, I also like the Super 88 Food Court in Allston. There's a decent dim sum stand, plus you can mix and match with other foods. And really cheap!

Teriyaki chicken is a Japanese dish, not Chinese and has nothing at all to do with Dim Sum...

Actually, chicken teriaki is an American dish.
