Default Best way to move to Boston from CT and best way to find Science or Real Estate job

First hi everyone and thanks for being part of this great forum,

I’ve being reading the forum for some time now and decided to do some posting and networking.

Here’s my situation: I’m young professional 30 looking to move to Boston from small town in Eastern CT.

The good: I have Bachelors in Science Biology&Chemistry and experience from big Pharmaceutical Company. And since Boston is known for being strong Research Center I consider it to be a good place for job opportunities and growth.

The bad-I’ve being searching and applying for jobs in Boston for few months at this time with only handful of interviews followed by “position being filled or put on hold”. Also salaries seams to get lower and lower. We all know economy is bad now, but how bad or good is Boston science job market and what is the opinion of people that are in this field in the area?! Also is there a Scientific/Research or Bio-Pharma local network, forum or website that can be helpful?!

I’m serious about the Boston move and since I have active Real Estate License for the state of MA and experience in the field I consider doing Real Estate there also. From what I see the real estate market there is always strong-even stronger now with the wider rental market. I was considering moving to Boston without job lined up (since it’s being some time without results of the job hunt) and starting to do real estate. If they are people in the real estate here on the forum what’s your opinion-how long will take me to make some money from real estate there. I know Sep 1st is coming and it will be strong demand for places=a lot possible options to make money-or am I wrong?! I did interviews with 2 brokerages there but both didn’t care to even help with leads or ideas for my move and were not worth considering working for. Any good Real Estate brokerages in Boston/Greater Boston-no franchises please. Also is there a Realtors or Real estate local network, forum or website that can be helpful?!

Best Regards
