Hi all,

I am looking to move to Boston this June to be enrolled as a postgraduate student in BUMC. I am looking for an apartment is a safe area, close to supermarket and other necessities. I have looked for apartments in the backbay area, notably the churchpark apartments. Unfortunately, they require a co-signer which I do not have.

I am a foreigner, Asian, mid 20s and I would love to have the convenience of having most necessities nearby (groceries, food, etc). Walking distance to BUMC is not a must, but public transport must be available. I am looking for a one bedroom in a nice building, with a budget of not exceeding 2800-ish per month inc. gas and hot water.

Thank you for your assistance!

Have you used BUMC's website?
Housing Resources » BUMC

BUMC should know more about the co-signor requirements and be able to give you advice. They say you need one.

If you have a US roommate, they could sign for the place, I imagine.

For your budget, you can live comfortably near campus.

Here are some great realtors I've worked with:
Danielle Bing | Gibson Sotheby's International Realty
Dave Crowley, Real Estate Agent - Boston-Back Bay (Boston, MA) Real Estate Office - Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage - New England - NewEnglandMoves.com

What about the fancy One Leighton St. apts. in Cambridge across from the Galleria. It is one of those fancy Archstone properties across the area.

Lots of rich foreign students there. Not sure if a co-signer is required.

It does look good, but it is a little far. I think it is better to have somewhere closer to BUMC. Thanks for the advice though.

I do not require myself to live close to foreign students, I get along with pretty much anyone =)

Unfortunately I don't. I will contact BUMC for some advice. Thank you!
