I have taken a ton of bus trips using Greyhound and Peter Pan out of Connecticut. Also include Bonanza (before they were bought out by Peter Pan) and Concord Coach Lines between Boston to Portland, ME or Concord, NH. No carrier is perfect, as I've had a few minor issues with G & PP before. I've never been on a Fung Wah bus, so I can't speak for them. I've actually had a couple of Peter Pan drivers who recognize me and chat if they have time (a retired Peter Pan driver was even a regular customer of mine once at my previous 7-Eleven job).

My grandfather smoked all his life and he never died from it until that last day.

(The point is your experience not having gotten hurt in a bus accident with any specific bus line doesn't really indicate anything about the safety of said bus line. There are far more substantial indicators of relative safety than your own persona l safety.)

i stopped riding fung wah after an unpleasant incident. the driver stopped on the side of the expressway to check the tire, rather than a rest station. a state police officer pulled over to explain to him he needed to do that at a rest station only to discover the driver spoke no English. fortunately there was a passenger who spoke mandarin. after 3 minutes of translation it was revealed that the driver didn't have his license -_- we waited for about 2 hours for another bus to pick us up on the side of the road somewhere in Connecticut.

while we were waiting miserably on the bus folks started exchanging fung wah tales. one passenger said on one bus a part of the floor was missing such that they could see the road beneath them. a hot mess.
