Default Joe Buck Bias

Does anyone else see the extreme bias in Joe Buck's commentating of any Boston games? I have noticed this for YEARS and it is MADDENING watching games on Fox as a result. Both Buck and McCarver are the WORST. Do you agree??

Yea, it has always been there. Joe Buck wouldn't be as bad if he wasn't with McCarver, because McCarver is a yankees fan.

He sucks. I can't stand him even more when he does football. I love how they all try to prop up the Rockies players even when they are losing by 10 runs. "This guy is a gerat pitcher, watch out for him!!" Yeah, right.

Besides that, what the heck is with the stupid sound effects that Fox puts in their graphics? It sounds like a video game. Lame.

They are horrible. I find it so hard to listen to them. There are so many complaining about them and yet FOX does nothing about it. Half the time they don't know what they are talking about. What about Jeannie Zalasko???? OMG
They should have let Remy and Orsillo have these games on NESN. They are the voice of Boston.

Never noticed this about Joe Buck, but then, back in '86, I kept hearing people say during the World Series that Vin Scully had an obvious bias in favor of the Mets. I recall even reading about that in one of the Boston papers. The theory was that it traced back to the fact that before he went national he'd been a local announcer for the Dodgers, going back to when they had been in Brooklyn. This was said to give him a NY and/or National League bias. I kept wondering what people were talking about, because I hadn't noticed any bias. Then I woke up in a big way when I heard the absolute delight in Scully's voice when he screamed, "The Mets WIN!" as the run scored after Buckner's error. Maybe I'm missing something about Joe Buck in the same way I didn't catch on to Vin Scully's bias.

Is McCarver a Yankee fan? Just wondering, since he grew up in Tennessee, and he never played for the Yankees. Interestingly enough, he actually played briefly for the Red Sox, but I've still noticed a bias against the Sox in his commentary. He's never been my favorite announcer even without that. He makes a lot of dumb comments, and that nasally voice kind of rubs me wrong.

Here's another thought on why McCarver may be biased: He played for the Cardinals in '67. I've read that bad blood developed between the Cards and the Sox during the World Series that year. Maybe that partly explains any bias. Hate to hear that bias anyway, especially from network announcers, who should come across as neutral.

Joe Buck football story....I forgot all the details like who, when, where...maybe someone can chime in...
It was after some big football game, I think pro, and Joe Buck was interviewing the star of the game. The star was doing a great job working with Joe, answering questions, etc.
During the interview a woman approaches and accompanies the star player. Joe Buck sees the woman and asks the star player "Is this your mom?", to which the star player replied (to Joe's horror) "No, It's my wife."

Ouch!
