I haven't been on any of the buses (busses?) to NYC in a few years...

Now that I have a WIFI tablet, do all of the bus lines nowadays have reliable WIFI as well as recharging DC plugs? Is there just one plug available per two passengers to share who sit side by side? Or can each passenger recharge their devices at once?

All of this is available on all Amtrak and Acela trains, right?

Thanks.

I believe Bolt has power outlets and WiFi. I was always loyal to the Fung Wah (RIP) and they didn't. Doubt Lucky Star does either.

I just took a bus to NYC this past weekend. Greyhound has both DC power plugs and WIFI in this their busses.

Made the trip that much more enjoyable.

The Fung Wah bus was $15 I believe, Greyhound was $25, both IMO worth it. The bus was updated, cleaner, and again had the WIFI and power outlets.

Forgot to add, everything is out of South Station too.

Bolt has wifi, though I don't remember it being particularly great. It's fine for general browsing, but don't expect to stream a movie. I can't remember if there are plugs at every seat, but I've never had trouble making sure I had one.

As for trains, last time I rode Amtrak, they did not have wifi, only the Acela has wifi.

Megabus has both the outlets and wifi. Round trip should be no more than $40 and is often much less when booked in advance (like $20 and sometimes under $10 if you book 2/3 weeks out).

Frankly, the train is by far the most comfortable option. It's roomier, smoother, and has more amenities (snack bar, alcohol, better bathrooms, etc.). Even the regional (slower) train is preferable to the bus of you can pay. Megabus and Bolt Bus are worth it for the money.

Amtrak offers pretty decent fare if you catch 'em at the right time. I'm headed to NYC tomorrow morning and round trip Amtrak was $98 to Penn and back.

All Amtrak trains now have wifi , to get the best fare , you book 2 weeks in advance. If your traveling long distance book a month in advanced....
