We experienced so much in so few days: The Duck Tour, The Lilac Festival, JKF Museum, Cambridge and Harvard, The Freedom Trail, Museum of Fine Arts, The Boston Pops. All with time to kick back and enjoy the Public Garden and take a ride on the Swan Boat and read the Sunday Globe on the grass in Cambridge.

From the "T" lady who almost walked us to a shop we couldn't remember the name of... to the female motor-cycle cops who gave us directions. Shops, restaurants....We were so impressed with your hospitality!

You are Boston Strong, for sure, and we thank you.

Thank you for that positive feedback, we are proud of who we are. I do remember in grade school, learning to be kind to visitors as we are a tourist city. Hope you visit us again friend

Thanks. Come back soon!

Boston gets a bad rap for its supposedly miserable, snooty, arrogant, cold and aloof residents.

Perhaps true in some cases, but I find most people here friendly and pleasant -- all without being in your business. No, we likely won't look at you when passing on neighborhood sidewalks, but it can happen on occasion. Not sure if I prefer it that way anyway. But I think most would be eager to help or answer a quick question if asked.

I'm not from here but have been here all my adult life. Was told upon arrival in 1978 for college that if one is not from New England, they won't accept you. Not sure who told me that, whether a New Englander or not. So many people in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, and Brookline nowadays are not from here and have lived here only briefly, so it's hard to say if my positive assessment of most everyday locals is of home grown townies, out of state students and transplants, or a mix. Did you notice the absence of a widespread Boston accent in your stay here?

Whatever...at least most people I bump into here, literally and figuratively, are pleasant and usually say "thank you" if I open the door for them or waive them across the intersection from my car.
