I will be visiting Boston for the first time in a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone could suggest some interesting places to eat, some neat coffee shops, and a good place (maybe non-touristy?) to eat lobster or lobster rolls.

Tourists and lobster/lobsters rolls simply go hand in hand in the summer. Can't have one without the other.

Only exception that comes to mind is Kelly's on Revere beach.

Breakfast at the Trident Bookstore on Newbury Street is a long standing funky Boston tradition.

Durgin Park at Faneuil Hall, known for New England style cooking and surly burly waitresses, for an ultra-rude Boston colonial experience is worth a one time visit.

The Barking Crab or the No-Name off the Seaport District is a no-frills New England seafood experience. (Note: I do second Kelly's for a more out-of-the-way excursion.)

Quirky Grendel's in Harvard Square and the original Cheer's on Beacon Hill would round out my top five novelty restaurant tour.
