The girl I am getting to go on a date with likes art, museums, but also likes the outdoors.

I don't date a lot so I'm kinda up in the air about what to do. I don't want to do just dinner, drinks, and a movie.

Any suggestions?

Here are a few that are out of the usual and good conversation starters:

Hammond Castle in Gloucester (really a castle and also a museum)
Stone Zoo, Stoneham
New England Aquarium
Whale Watch

Any street fair, farmer's market, festival type activity is good for ice breakers over people watching and goods.

MFA!!

Admission is steep ($25). There is a list of about 15 universities that can get you in for free if you have a student ID from one of them.

Even if you pay, it is well worth it.

If not that, go to the ICA and afterwards take a nice walk down by the riverfront.

But MFA is my #1 choice. I can't wait to go back with my boyfriend.

MFA is free the first full weekend of every month with a Bank of America card. Now, we could debate the etiquette of a discounted date, but...

Perhaps a picnic on the Common preceded by a swan boat ride?

I like this idea - it's outdoors and has statues (i.e. art). The Public Garden is very nice for couples to stroll around too. There are also walking tours led by a guide that begin at the Common (you can google them). Wife and I went on one, it was fun.

If those gondola rides along the Charles are still available, those are a class act. Never been on them, but have seen them. Always wanted to do that
