I am planning to move to the Boston Area Next month for good. We are planning to buy something in Boston. However, I may need an apartment/extended hotel for 2-3 months until I buy something...I will be working in Cambridge, 2 blocks from MIT station...

Do you have any suggestions? It would be ideal to be close to the red T...

thanks in advance!

Homewood Hilton hotel on the Cambridge/Arlington line on Mass Ave on the Arlington side. It's on the 77 bus line which will take you to Harvard Sq. The bus is right in front of the hotel. The bus will also take you to the Red Line at Alwife.

Nice place. I've stayed there in the past. Has a gym, wifi, decent place to eat. There's a new pub with great food right next door. It's extended stay so you have a small stove & microwave & fridge. Also has underground parking.

The Residence Inn Marriott near the regular Cambridge Marriott apparently has small kitchenettes in some/all of its guest rooms, for extended style stays.

I'm sure you're paying for the great location vs. the facility mentioned above in Arlington, just three miles from Kendall Square but not in Cambridge

Airbnb would be another option. I've heard mixed reviews from people who have used it but it seems to be the case that if you use common sense, everything should work out just fine.
