Hi,

I am moving to Boston because of job relocation. My office is in Boston, MA 02116. What are good apartments available in this zip code?
I am open to sharing the apartment would like to have separate room and bathroom. What are the best places to look for?
Is it going to be very expensive? If I have a car should I stay to some location a little far from here and commute to work? What would be some good locations to live near this zip code?
I am new to Boston any guidance will be much appreciated.

02116 is the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston. It's a beautiful neighborhood, but it will be very expensive. One bedroom apartments start at approximately $2,000 per month. If you lived and work in/around Back Bay, you would not need a car at all.

It all depends on your budget and your preferences. Do you want to live in an urban environment?

If your employer is relocating you, they should be able to help with your housing search.

I am a contractor so on my own. For a single person 2K per month is high. I think I should look into sharing. What are you think some of the good apartments in that area? So that I look for roommates. Any other way can I save money? Maybe taking a apartment little far and commuting to work through Bus/Train?

What is your age? It may help us to narrow your neighborhoods. Are cafes and bars a must, or do you often stay in after work? Do you need beaches, lakes or parks within a 15 minute drive or so, or do you prefer museums and cinemas?

Do you mind living with mixed races and nationalities, or it doesn't matter?

Brookline is near that zip code, a desirable town where you don't need a car. But it seems it may be hard to find apts with two baths, so you and your roomie may need to share.

Studios start at $1300 or so in older buildings. Often even higher in price as our rental market is very tight. Just type in $800 for a studio on Craigslist...hardly anything appears, or it may be a basement unit in a weird area.

You may want to look into Quincy area, Faxon Common is rather affordable and you can take the T to Back Bay.
