I know the UHaul way and the UPS pod method, but I am wondering what other ways exist. Thanks.

How much furniture do you have? Are you looking for the cheapest way? Or one where YOU don't have to do the work?

Not that many pieces, moderately cheap, I can do the work.

I see lots of ads on street poles and laundromats for movers this time of year.

Issac's is always plastering their moving services ads on public property. You may wish to call them for a local comparison starting point...

Home Depot rents trucks or vans also.

Uhaul has that $19.95 a day cargo van rental. But the cheapest way is to use a friend's van, SUV or pickup truck. Surely you know someone with a minivan... and just take out the back seats for the move.
